Friday Finishing . . .

Today will be spent adding borders,
and if there's time,
the words that will finish this piece
(although there are quite a few words
to hunt down, so that may take awhile):

And here's the drawing that inspired it:

Sometimes it's fun to see the translation from paper to fabric.  I find that my things are "happier" in fabric than on paper, a change that I'm not usually pleased with but don't seem to be able to control.  In this case, I almost picked out her eyes when they turned out to be so borderline "cute" but I hung on until the rest of the features were added and decided I kind of liked her hesitant expression. It will work well with the words.

I'll show you the finished piece in August, so stay tuned!

In the meantime,
here's wishing you
a wonderful
Fourth of July celebration,
with plenty
of "ooohs" and "aaaahs". . .

Happy Weekend!
