Yes, it's true -- I'm usually not the life of the New Year's Party....
I'm likely to shout:
Happy New Year!
Welcome to dieting . . .
budgeting . . .
attempted-self-improvement of all kinds,
and . . . wait for it . . .
JANUARY!!
JANUARY!!
That doesn't mean that somewhere under my gloomy exterior I'm not filled with good cheer and warm wishes for all!
Small Works wishes you and yours a New Year
filled with everything that would make it your best year ever!
(And if that's not realistic . . . success on your diet.)
CHEERS!

happy New Year, Susan. Still loving your blog everyday. May 2012 be a good year for all fabric-players.
Eeyor: We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it.
Pooh: Can't all what?
Eeyor: Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush.
Christopher Robin is giving a party."
"Very interesting," said Eeyore. "I suppose they will be sending me down the odd bits which got trodden on. Kind and Thoughtful. Not at all, don't mention it."
(At least Eeyore was not often disappointed because he didn't expect much. I'm getting that way about Christmas gifts. Last year I got a goofy hat. This year I got a goofy hat and a toaster. But I wasn't disappointed since I wasn't expecting anything.)
"After all, one can't complain. I have my friends. Somebody spoke to me only yesterday. And was it last week or the week before that Rabbit bumped into me and said 'Bother!'. The Social Round. Always something going on."
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year, Lynda! Best wishes to you and yours!
Leenie -- best comment on a blog post EVER. Consider yourself nominated....Much better than the blog post itself, so I hope everyone reads it.
And I've had your policy about Christmas gifts for years, actually. That's why I always buy something swell for myself in advance. Happy New Year to you!
Hahaha - love Eeyore - I hope you have a wonderful New Year, Susan!
I learned buy myself something fun in advance too. This year I brought home some sleek black Hush Puppy winter boots and a soft plaid winter scarf I got at an Eddie Bauer outlet store in Park City. Such things help me avoid the crabby holiday attitude. Hope whatever you got yourself was splendid.
